Kings do fall

Today I came around the corner of the trail in Fauntleroy Park and to my dismay found the resident elder maple tree on the ground.

Yes even kings of the forest have a limited time on earth and fall. Is that not the cycle of life? Nothing is constant but change.

In many ways patience is a mindful practice that will help us all. When encountering something we don’t like or agree with, do not become so agitated that you cannot function. Make sound decisions around the problem and then give time a chance to work. In our darkest moments be assured that the light will re-appear.

With those thoughts I leave you with when the 2013 winter light was shining on our king of maples.
