Eyes in the Driftwood

Down at the beach hoping for an otter sighting I surveyed the sound for their frolicking. All I saw was driftwood.

Then the driftwood had eyes.  It was a harbor seal beating out a living instead of the otters. Not as much fun as the otters but certainly entertaining as they bob up and own in the outgoing tide. Plus they were the most exciting thing at the beach.

It tis Winter and nature is hunkering down like we do. The days are shorter, it is colder and in the Northwest it is wetter. However, there are still things to see and watch in nature. Like the driftwood with eyes.
