My first evening in Chicago I walked down Clark across the river to see the Christkindlmarket. That was a packed madhouse but I was astonished by some evening beauty there in the city.
The bridge over the Chicago River on Clark was a treat. On my way down to the fair a barge slide under the bridge. Here are a few pictures I took on my way back.

Not until I started reviewing my photos and writing this post did I see that I had captured the Thompson Building in one of my bridge shots. This is the office building that my new sister company resides in and the purpose of this trip. That building has such a fabulous history and intrigued me. So much so I am going to write a post just on it.
The other fascinating sight I found in my evening wandering is the First United Methodist Church. I took photos of this gorgeous spire next to the fair in Daley Square. I showed these photos to several folks in the Irish Pub I ate dinner in down the block from there. No one knew what it was. I had to go find it on google maps & found it is a church in a skyscraper. It even has a chapel up in the sky.

WOW!
Never know where beauty will appear. R
