We are watching you! This line up formed after I fed them peanuts for blocks and blocks. Just a little game of follow the leader. About 10 blocks before the school, a couple crows recognized me and started tagging along. Then I fed them which lead to all hell breaking loose. The murder grew to around 100 birds following me down the street. They flew from wire to wire and at times brushed my head. They never rake me but rather give me a playful brush or close swoop to say… “we want more!”.

On Halloween I went down Seola Drive and found the beach there on the tiny bit of beach that wasn’t under high tide. They were breaking mussels up on the cement area at the end of the road. When they saw me they all lined up cause they know treats would be coming soon.

The local crows have my number and as soon as I arrive they group up. Years ago I tried to see how close they would come to me. I would be lucky if they came within 20 to 30 feet for a treat. Now when they see me, there is always a couple who tag along at about 5 to 10 feet. They never forget who is naughty or nice. Guess I have been accepted in the flock.
I LOVE the fact that they’ve accepted you!
It is like any friendship. It takes time. 😉
