This last week it has been a bit cold for Seattle standards. It stayed in the 20s most the day and as the sunset each day it got even colder. As I drove home I encountered flying in formation one of the largest flock of Crows I have ever seen in the Renton valley. This was their last fling to get warm before hunkering down together in the Springbrook Creek Wildlife Reserve.
I took this video to show you not only their flying ability but just how loud their singing is. When I watch them swing around in flight together it makes me wonder how they synchronize themselves. I swear they must be telepathic.
Hope you enjoy the spectacle as much as I did.
Wow – that was incredible. It’s amazing how they never seem to bump into each other. Beautiful!
I was amazed at the song they were singing and so loud. Plus I miraculously didn’t get any poop on my head. 🙂
Ha!
I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after that video! It’s like they all decided to have a convention. Is this unusual behavior for crows?
Oh yes this part of the winter crow party. I just got lucky to film them in flight. Check out my other posts on Renton crows. They are having fun. 😉
Ha! I work in that complex too and took several photos of these guys… http://eff-stoplocal.blogspot.com/2014/02/coming-home-late-on-crowy-evening.html
Crows continue to amaze me everyday. One just has to keep your eyes open for wonder in the world. R
